What is
Keto?
Keto is short for Ketogenic.
The Ketogenic diet is a low carb, high-fat diet that induces the ketosis (a normal process that happens when the body doesn't have enough carbs to burn for energy. Instead, it burns fat and makes these substances called ketones to use as fuel).
As with any other low carb diet (e.g. Atkins, South Beach, paleo, bariatric), It lowers blood sugar and insulin levels and shifts the body’s metabolism away from carbs and towards fat and ketones producing an accelerated weight loss.

Those following the Keto diet usually crave certain foods like bread, cookies, cakes, which are not only unhealthy in general but could make sudden weight gains. Nobody on Keto wants to be thrown out of the ketosis stage. In order to be within the limits, it's important to control the net carbs intake.
